- 1). Click "Start" and select "Control Panel."
- 2). Double-click the "Add or Remove Programs" icon. This should be close to the top of the window.
- 3). Scroll down to MSN Messenger. Click on the program then click the "Remove" button. The uninstall wizard will appear. Click "Finish" to complete uninstallation.
- 1). Click Start and select "My Computer." Type "C:\Windows\inf" into the address field at the top of the window and press the "Enter" key.
- 2). Locate the "Sysoc" file. Double-click on the file to open it. It will open in notepad.
- 3). Look for the following line: "msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7." Remove "hide." Do not remove anything else. Save the file.
- 4). Repeat the steps in section 1 to delete MSN Messenger using "Add or Remove Programs." MSN Messenger should be visible in the list of programs now.
