- 1). Open the Pro Tools software on your computer and then open the MIDI track that you want to edit. The track will automatically be set to "Regions" mode.
- 2). Double-click on any region of the MIDI using your grabber tool. Click on the "Window" option from the top toolbar menu and then click on the "MIDI Editor" option.
- 3). Select the region that you want to edit again within the MIDI editor. This can also consist of selecting a group of notes.
- 4). Click on the "Grid" button from the top of the application. You'll see that the default selection for the grid is checked for the "Absolute Grid" option.
- 5). Click on the "Relative Grid" option to change the grid so that the selected region will now be moved in steps according to current grid value that it corresponds with. The grid markings will also appear below the selected region.
- 6). Click and hold down on the "Grid" button at any time to switch between the "Absolute" and "Relative" grid modes.
