How to Upgrade From DirectX 9 to DirectX 10

    • 1). Open your Internet browser and go to the Microsoft website.

    • 2). Click the "Download Center" link under the Frequent Destinations heading. Click the "Download Categories" tab and select the DirectX link.

    • 3). Click on the "DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer" link to open the download page. Click the "Download" button to start the download. Go through the instructions given on the page to continue the installation.

    • 4). Double-click the downloaded file to start the upgrade.

    • 5). Alternately you can also install DirectX 10 through the windows update feature. Click "Start," select "Control Panel" and and choose the "System and Security" tab.

    • 6). Click on the "Windows Update" tab and check for updates. Windows will check for all updates available for your computer. Check if the available updates list contains DirectX10 as one of the updates. Install the update.

    • 7). Restart the computer after the update installation.
