1995 Impala SS Specs

    • The Chevrolet Impala SS is a luxury sedan that combines sleek style lines with traditional American performance and ingenuity. The 1995 Impala SS was a return from its glorious and reputable name 25 years prior. Collectors and car enthusiasts sought after the automobile for its modern looks and its classic American muscle appeal. 15 years later, the Impala SS remains an auto aficionado's dream sedan.

    Performance

    • Sporting one of Chevrolet's most popular late century engine types, the Impala SS comes with a small block Chevrolet 350 cubic inch engine. Boasting 260 horsepower and 330 ft-lb of torque, the Impala SS has plenty of power behind it to give drivers what they desire in a modern American muscle car. Considering most muscle cars of the 1960s and 1970s featured big block engines, consumers may favor the small block and its performance due largely to the fuel consumption of the Impala SS when compared to older cars.

    Handling

    • With measurements of width at 115 inches and length of 214 inches, the Impala SS is far from being a compact car. The dimensions reflect that of classic, sedan muscle cars in that the interiors offer much comfort due to the large size of the automobile while under the hood feeds the performance addicted drivers. With this design, most muscle cars exhibited poor handling in curves and stopping. The 1995 Impala SS, however, features four anti-lock disc brakes, while the front suspension remains independent and rear axle relies on its limited slip differential to transfer power to the wheels.

    Appearance

    • Not too noticeably different from its relative Caprice models of the mid-1990s, there are few slight modifications made for the Impala SS. The automobile is complemented with five-spoke, 17-inch alloy wheels fitted with road ready low profile tires. A small spoiler lines the trunk of the Impala, while the rear window is trimmed from its original large cutout of the Caprice. Slight wheel well adjustments and distinctive Impala badging give added touches to the exterior. Available in three dark colors, dark cherry, dark green and black, the Impala SS surely provokes an aggressive image anywhere on the road.

    Interior

    • The Impala SS features power windows, locks, front seats and fully adjustable mirrors, the Impala provides for a quiet ride while containing standard features not available in other cars of its time period. A full surround sound stereo was available in the Impala SS, with a head unit that provided options for AM/FM radio and CD transmission.
