How to Wire the Radio on a 1993 Eclipse

    • 1). Disconnect the car's negative battery cable from the terminal using an adjustable wrench.

    • 2). Pull off the plastic trim panel surrounding the radio. Remove the four Phillips screws securing the radio to the dash. Pull the radio out of the dash. Unclip the two wire harnesses from the rear and pull out the black radio antenna cable.

    • 3). Reattach the plastic trim panel. Slide the radio-installation sleeve packaged with the new radio into the gap in the panel. Bend the tabs on the installation sleeve behind the trim panel to lock the sleeve in place. Make sure the wiring comes through the installation sleeve.

    • 4). Connect the car's wire harnesses to one end of the wire-harness adapter. Connect the other end of the wire-harness adapter to the wire harness of the new radio. Push the connections together until they click into place. Plug the black radio antenna into the radio antenna port on the rear of the stereo.

    • 5). Slide the connected radio into the radio-installation sleeve. Push it in until it sits correctly, taking care not to trap any of the wiring. Reconnect the negative battery terminal. Turn on the radio to test the installation.
