How to Remove the Seat From a 2005 Pontiac Montana

    • 1). Push the headrests on the back seat all the way down.

    • 2). Unlatch the buckle on the safety belt on the passenger's side rear seat.

    • 3). Insert the ignition key under the red button located next to the passenger's rear seat and push up to remove the seat belt. Set it aside.

    • 4). Pull the handle that folds the rear seat in half.

    • 5). Slide the rear seat all the way back by pulling up on the adjustment bar.

    • 6). Find a strap at the bottom back of the seat and pull on it to unlock it.

    • 7). Press the curved bar located under the front of the seat. Move the seat forward in a rocking motion, to free it. Move the seat out of the vehicle through a side door.

    • 8). Repeat the above steps for the other bench seat.
