How to Install XP on Vista Using GParted

    • 1). Insert your GParted boot disc into your computer and restart your computer. Press, when prompted, "any key to boot from CD."

    • 2). Click on your Windows Vista partition. Click "Partition," then "Unmount."

    • 3). Click and drag the end of the partition edge inward, so you allocate space to the drive. Click the original Vista partition, click "Partition" and then "Mount." Click "File," then "Exit." Press "Enter" to save changes.

    • 4). Eject the disc and insert your Windows XP disc. Press, when prompted, "any key to boot from CD." Click "Next" throughout the first screens of the installation until prompted to choose a new install location.

    • 5). Select the unpartitioned space and click "Format." Click "Install" and then let Windows XP install.
