- 1). Turn off the water supply to the line you are tapping. Turn on the faucets attached to the line to remove any water.
- 2). Place the brackets of the self-tapping valve over the existing waterline.
- 3). Tighten the nuts to attach the bracket to the waterline.
- 4). Attach the plastic hose to the top of the saddle valve and run it to your new appliance. Attach the line according to the instructions included.
- 5). Turn the handle of the valve clockwise to insert the sharp tap of the valve into the existing water line. Turn until the sharp point breaks through the line.
- 6). Turn on the water supply.
- 7). Turn the handle of the valve counterclockwise until water begins to flow into the plastic tube. Check for leaks.
