- 1). Open the "Network and Sharing Center" on your Windows computer via its icon in the "Control Panel."
- 2). Click "Set Up a Connection."
- 3). Click "Set Up a Wireless Ad-Hoc." Click "Next."
- 4). Specify the settings for your wireless ad-hoc network. You will need to name the network so that other computers can connect to it. You can also choose whether or not the Ad-Hoc network requires a password. Once you're done, click "Next" and then "Finish." Your desktop is now effectively acting as a wireless router, and you can connect to it and access the Internet on any computer in the area using the same methods you would use to connect to a regular wireless network.
