AIM is Not Detecting My Web Cam

    • 1). Click the "Start" button in the Windows taskbar. Click the arrow next to the "Shut Down" button and click "Switch User." Log in to an account with administrative privileges.

    • 2). Click "Control Panel." Double-click the "Scanners and Cameras" icon. Double-click the name of the camera. If the camera is not listed, it may not be installed. Click the "Add Device" button and follow the instructions on-screen to complete the installation.

    • 3). Start the AIM program and sign in to your AIM account. Click the "Options" button. Click "Settings." Click the "Enhanced IM" tab.

    • 4). Click the drop-down menu next to "Camera" and select the name of the webcam. Click "Apply." Click "Save." Click the "Options" button. Click "Start Video Chat." A preview window displaying what the webcam sees will open.
