How to Transfer Music From an iPod to a Computer With Hidden Folders

    • 1). Connect your iPod to the computer by using a USB cord. Depending on your settings, iTunes might come up. A message might then pop up that asks if you'd like to sync your iPod with your iTunes library. Click "No." Clicking "Yes" can lead to your iPod being converted to the files that are currently in your iTunes library, which will wipe out files on your iPod.

    • 2). Click the Start button in the bottom left corner of your screen and select "My Computer."

    • 3). Click on the drive that is your iPod's. It'll have "iPod" in the folder name, such as "Tom's iPod."

    • 4). Click the Tools menu and choose "Folder Options." Select the View tab. Click the circle that is found next to "Show hidden files and folders." Click "Apply" and then "OK." A folder will appear called "iPod_Control."

    • 5). Double-click the "iPod_Control" folder, which will reveal a folder named "Music." Click that. You'll now see several folders with names such as "F00." These folders hold the files of music from your iPod.

    • 6). Click the Edit menu and choose "Select All." Click the Edit menu again and choose "Copy." The folders will now be highlighted. Paste them into somewhere on your computer that you can find easily, such as My Documents or My Music. Be patient, as this will take a while depending on how much music is on your iPod. Wait until this is finished.

    • 7). Highlight the music folders that now are located on your computer. Right click and select "Properties." Choose the General tab. Unclick the box that is found next to "Hidden." Click "Apply." Choose to apply it to all the folders and subfolders. You've now completed transferring music from your iPod to your computer.
