How Do I Tell if a Computer Is a P3 or P4?

    • 1). Go to your Start menu and click "Control Panel."

    • 2). Go to "Performance and Maintenance" in Windows XP. In Vista, you must go to "System and Maintenance." In versions of Windows before XP, all you have to do is click "System" and skip the next step.

    • 3). Click "System" and look under ornext to "Processor." If it says "Pentium 3," you have a P3 computer. Pentium 4 represents P4.
