- 1). Lift the vehicle's hood and loosen the bolt holding the negative battery cable clamp to the negative battery terminal with an adjustable wrench. Lift the cable from the battery and set it aside, away from the battery terminals.
- 2). Locate the vehicle's recirculating valve. The valve takes the excess air and forces it back into the intake valve. Consult your vehicle's repair manual for the precise location and appearance of the valve. The valve will universally be connect to two hoses.
- 3). Release the clamps that hold the hoses to the valve. Many vehicles will require you to loosen the screw or bolt that holds the hose clamp snugly around the valve with a flat screwdriver. Remove both hoses and set the recirculating valve aside.
- 4). Place the upper hose onto the end of the blow-off valve that does not have an opening on the side. Replace the retaining clamp and screw in the screw or bolt to tighten it around the new valve. Place the other hose around the opposite side of the new valve and tighten the clamp to secure the hose into place. Replace the valve into the same general area that once held the factory valve.
- 5). Place the negative battery cable clamp back onto the battery terminal. Tighten the bolt on the cable's clamp with the wrench and close the hood.
