- 1). Clean burnt sugar from a pot or a pan by filling it with warm water from the faucet. Place the cooking vessel on the stove, put the heat on medium-low, and allow the water to simmer for about 20 minutes. The burnt sugar should warm in the simmering water and melt away from the sides and bottom.
- 2). Rinse out the pot or pan once the water has simmered and wash it using dish detergent. Brush with a nonabrasive scrubber to remove any extra sugar molecules.
- 3). Clean burnt sugar off countertops by wetting a clean, soft cloth with warm water. Rub it over the countertop or stove top to remove any excess sugar or stains on the area.
- 4). Squeeze a dime-sized amount of detergent onto the burnt sugar area and allow it to rest for a couple of minutes. Use the clean, moist towel to wipe away the burnt sugar.
- 5). Remove the excess detergent and moisture from the surface so the area is dry and clean.
