Computer technology continues to advance throughout the new millennium. Every year that passes, computers become available that are faster, lighter and smaller. Operating systems advance as well, allowing newer and more versatile features. Such is the case with the Windows 7 tablet PC, encompassing many features from Windows 7, while remaining small enough to easily transport anywhere. - One feature that becomes extremely difficult with small PCs, such as tablet PCs, is typing. Many have modified writer's programs that allow you to write normally with a pen, which can then be recognized and converted into a text document in the same way it would as if you typed it. Tablet Math is a program that performs this operation for math. It offers a screen where you can handwrite math equations, expressions and problems. When the input panel recognizes what you have written, it can then be converted into a word processor format.
- One new feature that is only available on some Windows 7 tablet PCs is "touch and go." This feature brings multitouch capabilities --- much like that of many cell phones --- to Windows 7. This feature saves time, allowing users to skip the use of their pen if desired. Using only your fingers, you can tap twice for right-clicking, scroll by dragging your finger and zoom by sliding your fingers together and apart. Images can even be rotated by simply dragging your finger in a circular manner in the desired direction.
- The Windows 7 tablet PC includes an enhanced handwriting recognition pen. The new version is available in Windows 7 Ultimate Edition, allowing many new languages to be recognized, including many eastern Asian methods of writing. If not already installed on your tablet PC, corresponding language packs can be found and installed from Windows Update. Other features include a specialized input for customized dictionaries.
