- 1). Connect the receiver into a USB port. The receiver will gather information from the Logitech wireless mouse, and interpret the movements and commands to the computer.
- 2). Allow Windows to add the needed device drivers. With Plug and Play technology, there are already default drivers installed that will allow the Logitech wireless mouse to work at a basic level.
- 3). Install the additional drivers to use the added features of your Logitech wireless mouse. These drivers are not always necessary, depending on whether you are running Windows XP, Windows Vista or the Windows 7 operating system, and on the version of wireless mouse you are installing. The additional drivers will come on a CD when you purchase the mouse. If you received the mouse second-hand, then consider downloading the drivers from the Microsoft or Logitech websites.
