How to Make a Bootable Windows XP CD With Drivers

    • 1). Create a new folder on your computer in a place where you will easily remember its location, such as the desktop. Choose any name for the folder.

    • 2). Insert the Windows XP installation CD into your CD drive. Open Windows Explorer and locate the CD. Click "Tools," then select "Folder Options." Click the "View" tab. Make sure that "Show Hidden Files" is checked and that "Hide Protected Files" is not checked.

    • 3). Select all of the files on the CD and copy them to the folder that you created earlier.

    • 4). Locate all of the drivers you want on the CD. Copy them to the same folder.

    • 5). Run your ISO extracting program and select your CD drive. You should see an ISO file. Copy it to the same folder that you created earlier.

    • 6). Run your CD burning software. Follow the software's directions to burn the entire contents of the folder to a blank CD. This will usually require you to burn the CD as a "Boot" or "Image," but your software might call it something else.
