- 1). Use the mouse and go to "Start," then "Control Panel." The control panel displays current settings and system features. Double-click on the icon labeled "Printers and Faxes" to bring up all currently installed printers.
- 2). Select the HP Laserjet 3050 by clicking on the appropriate icon. Be sure to only click once to select the printer. Double-clicking will bring up the printer spooler. Right-click on the icon and select "Properties."
- 3). Locate the tab that is labeled "Color." Double-click on the tab name to display the current color settings. Notice two options, "Print in Grayscale" and "Print in Color." Click the white box next to "Print in Color" to ensure that the printer is set properly to use both the black and the color ink cartridge. Click "Apply" and then "OK" to save the settings.
