  Ground effects kits for the BMW X5 provide a way to customize your vehicle, differentiating it from stock X5s as well as a giving it a performance advantage. Different ground effects kits come with their own style additions to the X5, but all of them can be painted to match the stock color, or any other color you wish to paint your vehicle.
  
  

Platinum

• Aftermarket automotive styling company Extreme Dimensions makes a ground effects kit, called the Platinum, for 2000-03 X5s (see Resources). The kit comes with a replacement front bumper to lower the BMW X5's front, while still providing slots for the vehicle's fog lights. The front bumper also adds a lower grill to increase airflow into the X5's engine compartment. The kit also comes with a replacement rear bumper, which brings the X5's rear bumper close to the ground, leaving openings for the vehicle's two tailpipes. Both pieces of the Platinum ground effects kit are made of Extreme Dimension's Duraflex composite material, which is a combination of flex resins, fiberglass and plastics.
  
  

Sarona

• Sarona makes a ground effects kit for 2000-07 BMW X5s (see Resources). Depending on the model year, the kit comes in four versions, all of which come with front and rear bumpers as well as side skirts. The first kit fits 2007-09 X5s and adds a large lower grill on the front bumper. The second kit fits 2004-07 models, with three small openings in the front bumper. The third kit looks similar to the first, but is made for 2004-06 X5s. The fourth kit looks like the second kit, but it is made for 2000-03 X5s. All four versions come with cutouts for the front fog lights, as well as mounting spots for the front headlight washers.
  
  

AC Schnitzer

• German aftermarket auto parts company AC Schnitzer also offers a ground effects kit for the BMW X5 (see Resources). AC Schnitzer's kit comes with front and rear bumper replacements, both of which mount underneath the vehicle to add a different look than stock X5s. The front bumper also has cutouts for the front fog lights and a lower grill, while the rear has cutouts for the exhaust pipes.
