How to Troubleshoot a 1990 Acura Legend Relay Switch

    • 1). Remove your Acura Legend's negative battery cable with your wrench.

    • 2). Pull the lid off your Acura Legend's relay panel and remove the relay you wish to test out. The relays themselves are marked, but there will also be a relay diagram printed on the inside of the relay panel lid.

    • 3). Turn on the power to your voltmeter and also make sure the setting is switched over to ohms.

    • 4). Place one of your voltmeter's test leads to one of your Acura's relay power terminals and the other meter lead to the other relay power terminal. A reading on the volt meter showing any continuity means the relay is bad. If no continuity is registered it means the relay is OK and the problem lies elsewhere.
