- 1). Turn off your monitor, and unplug the power cable and any cables connecting it to the computer. Place the monitor face-down on a sturdy work surface.
- 2). Use your screwdriver to remove any screws holding the base stand to the back of the monitor. Remove the base stand, and set it aside.
- 3). Remove all screws from the back of the monitor, and set them aside. Pry the back panel of the monitor off of the unit, and set it aside.
- 4). Remove the screws on the metal cage covering the main circuit board. Remove the cage, and set it aside.
- 5). Unplug the cables that connect to the top of the circuit board.
- 6). Remove the screws from the metal brackets on either side of the monitor as well as the screws on the back plate around the circuit board.
- 7). Remove the back plate to expose the back of the LCD itself. Mounted below the LCD is the inverter board. Unplug the cable that attaches at either end of it, and remove the inverter board itself.
- 8). Fit a new inverter board into the old one's place, and reverse the steps for reassembly.
