How to Recover an Administrator Password Using Windows 2000

    • 1). Restart the Windows 2000 computer.

    • 2). Log into another account that has enhanced privileges.

    • 3). Click "Start" and select Run from the menu.

    • 4). Type "control userpasswords" (without the quotation marks) and press "Enter."

    • 5). Click the administrative account you wish to recover and click the "Reset Password" button. Input a new password for the account.
