How to Get the CD Drive to Work on a Gateway Laptop

    • 1). Open your Web browser and visit Gateway.com.

    • 2). Click "Support," followed by "Drivers and Downloads."

    • 3). Click "Browse All Downloads." Use the drop-down menus you see on screen to find a listing of all available drivers for your exact make and model of laptop computer.

    • 4). Locate the CD-ROM driver on the "Driver Download" page for your Gateway laptop computer. Click on the link for the CD-ROM driver to download it to your computer.

    • 5). Double-click on the Gateway laptop computer CD-ROM driver. Click "Extract." This will install the driver for your CD-ROM drive. Your unit will now operate correctly.
