How to Replace the Front Signal Lights in a Oldsmobile Alero

    • 1). Shut off your Alero's engine and turn the headlamp switch to "OFF." Open the hood using the primary and auxiliary hood release latches.

    • 2). Lift the headlamp assembly up and forward to disengage its mounting brackets. Gently rest the assembly on the front bumper before proceeding.

    • 3). Remove the rubber cap covering the bulb assembly and set in on the ground next to the car.

    • 4). Twist the bulb assembly retainer 1/6 of a turn counterclockwise and pull the assembly out. Then, unclip the wiring harness from the assembly.

    • 5). Turn the bulb counterclockwise to remove it from the assembly. Dispose of the bulb immediately to prevent it from becoming a hazard.

    • 6). Insert the new bulb into the socket, and then reconnect the wiring harness to the bulb assembly.

    • 7). Test the new bulb to make sure it works before reinstalling the bulb assembly, replacing its rubber cap and remounting the headlamp.
