How to Restore Tabs

    Restore "System Restore" Tab in the System Properties Box

    • 1). Log in to the computer using an account with administrator rights.

    • 2). Open the Group Policy Editor. In Windows XP, click "Start," select "Run," type "gpedit.msc" in the box and click "OK."

      In Windows 7, click "Start," type "gpedit.msc" in the "Search" box and press "Enter."

    • 3). Navigate to the following sub item in the console tree located in the left-side window panel: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > System Restore.

    • 4). Double-click "Turn off System Restore" in the right-side window panel. Select "Not Configured." Click "OK."

    • 5). Double-click "Turn off Configuration" in the right-side window panel. Select "Not Configured." Click "OK."

    Restore "Security" Tab in the Internet Properties Box

    • 1). Perform Steps 1 and 2 from the first section (Restore "System Restore" Tab in the System Properties Box).

    • 2). Navigate to the following sub item in the console tree located in the left-side window panel: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Internet Explorer > Internet Control Panel.

    • 3). Double-click "Display the Security page" in the right-side window panel. Select "Not Configured." Click "OK."

    Restore "Screen Saver" Tab in the Display Properties Box (for Windows XP)

    • 1). Perform Steps 1 and 2 from the first section (Restore "System Restore" Tab in the System Properties Box).

    • 2). Navigate to the following sub item in the console tree located in the left-side window panel: User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Control Panel > Display.

    • 3). Double-click "Hide Screen Saver tab" in the right-side window panel. Select "Not Configured." Click "OK."

    Restore "Desktop" Tab in the Display Properties Box (for Windows XP)

    • 1). Perform Steps 1 and 2 from the first section (Restore "System Restore" Tab in the System Properties Box).

    • 2). Navigate to the following sub item in the console tree located in the left-side window panel: User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Explorer.

    • 3). Double-click "Turn On Classic Shell" in the right-side window panel. Select "Not Configured." Click "OK."

    Restore "Remote" Tab in System Properties

    • 1). Open the "Start" menu. In Windows XP only, select "Run."

    • 2). Type "regsvr32 remotepg.dll" in the "Open" box in Windows XP. Type "remotepg.dll" in the "Search" box in Windows 7.

    • 3). Press "Enter." Click "OK" if prompted.
