- 1). Download external sleep timer software off the Internet. There are several free resources for sleep timers available.
- 2). Double click on the sleep timer software once the download is completed. The file will open through your Installation Wizard. Follow the prompts to install the software.
- 3). Open the sleep timer software. Under "Options" select the "Sleep Time" and set the clock to the time when you want your computer to go to sleep. Adjust other options, including the warning time and power options, based on your preferences.
- 4). Restart your computer and hit the "F2" key to enter BIOS mode when the start-up window tells you.
- 5). Select the "Power Management" option by using the up and down keys and hitting "Enter." This will open a sub-menu. Select the "Time" option with the up and down keys, then enter the time when you want your computer to wake up.
- 1). Click on the "System Preferences" option in the startup dock.
- 2). Click on the "Hardware" tab in the "System Preferences" window, then select the "Energy Saver" option.
- 3). Select the box next to the "Sleep" option and set the exact time when you want your computer to go to sleep.
- 4). Select the box next to the "Wake" option and set the exact time when you want your computer to wake up.
