    • 1). Install the Mac hard drive in the Windows computer. A Mac hard drive can be attached internally via an IDE cable and power cable or may be placed in a USB enclosure and plugged into the USB port.

    • 2). Download HFSExplorer 0.21 by clicking on the link located in the Resources section below. Double-click the file to launch the installation application.

    • 3). Click Next and read the license agreement. Click I Agree. Select the Typical installation type and click Next.

    • 4). Click Next to confirm the installation location. Click Install to confirm the start menu shortcut creation. Click Finish to close the HFSExplorer setup wizard.

    • 5). In the Windows taskbar, click Start and locate the HFSExplorer program group shortcut. Click the HFSExplorer shortcut icon to open the program.

    • 6). Click the File menu at the top of the program window and select Load File System From Device... Click Autodetect button. The program will detect the Mac hard drive if one is present.

    • 7). Click Load. The file system from the Mac hard drive will populate the pane on the right side of the screen. You can browse through the folders on the hard drive by clicking folders in the pane on the left side of the program window. If you are able to manipulate files on the Mac hard drive, then the program is working correctly.
