- 1). Pull the hood release lever under the driver's side dashboard of the Pontiac. Move to the front of the vehicle.
- 2). Loosen the bolt that secures the negative battery cable to the negative battery terminal with a 10mm socket wrench. Move the cable away from the battery and return to the inside of the vehicle.
- 3). Open the glove compartment and use the Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the two screws on the left edge of the compartment's opening.
- 4). Grab the top of the main dash panel that spans the length of the Pontiac's dashboard and pull it away from the dash.
- 5). Remove the two bolts on the side of the stereo bracket (one on each side), using a 7mm socket and drive.
- 6). Slide the stereo from the Pontiac's stereo mounting dock and disconnect the stereo wiring connected to the back of the unit.
- 7). Plug the stereo wiring from the vehicle into the lead connectors of the wiring harness adapter.
- 8). Slide the installation sleeve into the vehicle's stereo dock and fold down the metal tabs of the sleeve with the flat screwdriver. Feed the wiring harness adapter leads and antenna cable through the sleeve.
- 9). Plug the Pontiac's antenna cable into the GM antenna adapter.

Plug the antenna adapter lead into the FM antenna outlet on the back panel of the new radio. - 11
Plug the wiring harness adapter lead connectors into the corresponding outlets on the back panel of the new radio. - 12
Slide the new radio into the stereo dock until it snaps into place within the installation sleeve. - 13
Align the main dash panel against the dashboard and press firmly across the panel to clip it back onto the dashboard. - 14
Replace the two screws at the left edge of the glove compartment opening and close the glove compartment. Return to the battery. - 15
Replace the negative battery cable clamp back around the negative battery post. Tighten the cable to the post with the wrench. - 16
Close the Pontiac's hood.
