How to Get the Radio Out of a Saab 9-3

    • 1). Open the hood of the Saab. Loosen the bolt on the clamp of the negative battery cable with the 10 mm wrench. Remove the negative battery cable from the negative battery lead post.

    • 2). Insert the DIN release tools into the openings on either side of the Saab stereo faceplate.

    • 3). Pull outward on the release tools while simultaneously pulling the stereo from the dashboard. Pull the stereo far enough so that the wiring connections to the rear of the radio can be reached by hand.

    • 4). Disconnect the wiring to the back of the Saab radio. There will be four groups of connecting wires connected to the stereo. The antenna, the speaker wires, the amplifier patch cables and the power supply cable all need to be removed from the rear of the radio to detached the radio from the Saab completely.

    • 5). Place the negative battery cable clamp around the negative battery delete post. Tighten the clamp with the 10 mm wrench.
