- 1). Click the "Start" button to launch the Start Menu.
- 2). Type "msconfig" in the text box on the Start Menu, then press "Enter." This will launch your computer's System Configuration tool.
- 3). Navigate to the "Startup" tab. You will see a list of programs that start up when your computer boots.
- 4). Click the box next to the name of the program to add or remove a check mark. If the program has a check mark next to its name, the program will launch when your computer starts. Removing the check next to the program's name prevents that program from starting up with your computer.
- 5). Click "OK" once you have finished your configuration.
- 6). Reboot your computer when prompted to complete the changes. You can return to the "Startup" tab at any time to change which programs start when you boot your computer.
