- 1). Turn on the printer and the computer. Boot up Windows 7 on the computer and allow all startup processes to finish before continuing.
- 2). Plug the smaller end of the USB cable into the slot on the back of the printer. Plug the other end of the USB cable into one of the computer's empty USB slots. Wait for the computer to display a message saying "Your Devices Are Ready to Use." Click on the small "X" at the top right corner of the message box to close it.
- 3). Click the "Start" button and then type "change device installation" in the "Search" box and press the "Enter" key. Click "Change Device Installation Settings" to open a new window, then check on the box next to "Yes, Do This Automatically." Click the "Save Changes" button to close the window.
- 4). Use the printer for produces printouts as you normally would. To change the printer's settings, click on the "Properties" box in the window that appears when you click "Print."
