- 1). Sprinkle talcum powder, baking soda, cornstarch or diatomaceous earth around the perimeter of your home to prevent lawn mites from coming into your home. If you fail to properly control mites in your lawn, they may migrate into the home and become a nuisance.
- 2). Check your lawn and landscaping carefully for hot and dry spots. Lawn mites tend to congregate and multiply in these hot and arid spaces. Water any dry spots you find to reduce the growth of lawn mites.
- 3). Spray any problem areas with a quality lawn insecticide controller. Read the label carefully to be sure the product is effective against lawn mites. Use the product according to the package directions.
