How to Fix a High CPU Usage in Windows XP

    • 1). Press together "Ctrl+alt+del." A window will pop up called "Task manager."

    • 2). Click the tab titled "Processes." You will see a list of programs.

    • 3). Sort the programs by CPU usage. Double click the title above the row labeled "CPU." The highest usage is now at the top.

    • 4). Right click on the program and choose "End Process" to close the program. Now that you know what program it is, you can uninstall it from your system to regain proper computer functionality.
