How to Find Your Video Card in Your Computer

    • 1). Set your computer to the desktop. Close or minimize all programs you have running. This is the easiest way to get to the menu you will need to determine your video card.

    • 2). Right-click your mouse and select "Personalize" on the drop-down menu. This will open up a menu inside your control panel. If you aren't running Windows Vista, then you will need to go into the Control Panel, which you can access under "My Computer."

    • 3). Click the option "Display Settings." This will open up you're a window "Display Settings." If you aren't using Windows Vista, you will need to double-click "Display" while in the Control Panel.

    • 4). Open the Advanced Settings menu by clicking the button on the bottom of the window. This will open the properties window of "My Video Settings." In the box labeled "Adapter Type" will be the current video card that your computer is running.
