How to Remove the Speaker Icon in Windows Vista

    • 1). Log in to your Vista operating system and right-click on the taskbar.

    • 2). Click on "Properties" and then select the "Notification Area" tab.

    • 3). Uncheck the box labeled "Volume" and then click "OK." The volume icon is now gone from the system tray.
