What Is a Springform Pan?
Definition:
A springform pan is a type of round pan used for making desserts like cheesecakes as well as tortes and other multi-layered desserts, both baked and frozen.
A springform pan () consists of two parts, the bottom and the side, which is removable and attaches with a clip. Being able to remove the sides without flipping the pan over makes it much easier to remove the cake from the pan. Some versions have a nonstick coating which makes it even easier to remove the sides without sticking.
A springform pan can also be used for baking for savory recipes like baking deep-dish pizza and casseroles. Most are 9 inches or 10 inches, but you can also get small ones for baking individual desserts.
