- Like all NVIDIA Quadro NVS GPUs, the HorizSync NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M relies on a NVIDIA Forceware Unified Driver Architecture. Having a unified architecture means that the GPU can support hardware products from a range of companies, while requiring only the installation, configuration and management of a single driver. This architecture simplifies the processes of upgrading computer systems and adding new hardware components.
- Bus interface refers to the type of connection a GPU uses for sharing data with a computer motherboard's CPU. The HorizSync NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M uses a Peripheral Component Interconnect bus interface, more specifically a PCI Express x16. The Express x16 can deliver 4GB per second of data both downstream and upstream.
- The HorizSync NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M provides display support for HDMI, high-definition TV, VGA, DVI and LVDS connections. When accommodating digital display sources, such as HDMI, the Quadro NVS 140M can support a maximum display resolution of 1,600 pixels by 1,200 pixels, for a total of 1.92 million pixels. When handling analog display sources, such as VGA, the GPU can provide a maximum display resolution of 2,048 pixels by 1,536 pixels, for a total of approximately 3.15 million pixels. Using NVIDIA nView Multi-Display Technology, the Quadro NVS 140M can support two display screens simultaneously.
- When it comes to accessing data in a computer motherboard's memory, the HorizSync NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M relies on a 64-bit interface, which refers to the bus width of the memory interface, or how many lanes or paths of data the interface allows information to travel simultaneously. The more bits an interface has, the faster data can travel. Apart from data speed, the Quadro NVS 140M's memory interface can support overall memory sizes of 128MB and 256MB. The more data a GPU can access, the more complex tasks it can perform.
- At the core of the HorizSync NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M's power control is PowerMizer 7.0 Technology. This technology adapts the power consumption of the GPU to specific operations, so that the GPU doesn't utilize a laptop computer's battery power unnecessarily. The Quadro NVS 140M has a power consumption rating of 10 watts.
