How to Make Golf Ball Centerpieces Out of Flowers

    • 1). Cut the net off the floral foam ball. Cut short, straight pieces off the ball with a knife, shaping it to look like a golf ball. Use a real golf ball to help you make the shape.

    • 2). Soak the ball in water for 30 minutes. Place the ball on top of the cylinder vase to hold it securely while you work.

    • 3). Cut the stems of the flowers with scissors or a knife, leaving 1 inch of stem on each bloom. Press the flowers firmly into the foam until the bloom touches the foam. Overlap the petals slightly to keep the foam from showing through. Don't design in straight lines -- a random pattern is more realistic.

    • 4). Turn the ball over on the vase to add flowers to the bottom. Continue until the ball is completely covered.

    • 5). Remove the ball and pour water into the vase, filling it one-third full. Add two drops of green food coloring and stir. Add more food coloring a drop at a time until you reach the desired color.

    • 6). Add golf balls to the vase, filling it one-third full. This will raise the water level and add visual interest at table level.

    • 7). Put the ball back on top of the vase.
