  Navigon GPS units have some similar specifications, but the dimensions, screen sizes and internal components vary. Some models lack Bluetooth capabilities and microphones. Navigon offers GPS units with a variety of options as well as navigation software for some smartphones. Each unit operates with three types of memory. The heaviest model weighs 9 ounces. The largest screen size available is 4.8 inches. All units operate using a Microsoft Windows system. There are four types of GPS used in the units.
  
  

Dimensions

• The units' average size is 4 inches by 3 inches by 0.8 inches. The weights range from 3 ounces to 9 ounces. All models have a color resistive touch panel, but the size of the panel depends on the model. The Navigon 2100 Max, 5100 Max, 7100 and 7200T models have a 4.3-inch screen. The Navigon 5100, 2100, 2120, 2000S, 2090S and 2200T models have a 3.5-inch screen. The Navigon 8100T has a 4.8-inch screen.
  
  

Operating Systems

• Most of the models include a Samsung central processing unit (CPU) with speeds ranging from 2,440 to 533 megahertz. The exceptions are the Navigon 7200T, which has a Centrality Titan I 600 megahertz CPU, and the 2000S/2090S/2200T, with a Centrality Atlas II AT642D-XAC 375 megahertz CPU. All units use a Microsoft Windows CE Net 5.0 operating system.
  
  

Memory

• Each unit has three types of memory: ROM, RAM or DRAM. The Navigon 2100, 2120, 5100 Max and 2100 Max have 64 megabytes of ROM. The 5100 and 7100 have 256 megabytes of ROM. The Navigon 8100T has 512 megabytes of ROM, while the Navigon 7200T, 2000S, 2090S and 2200T have 2 gigabytes of Flash ROM. All other models have 64 megabytes of RAM. Exceptions are the Navigon 2100 Max with 512 megabytes of RAM; the Navigon 8100T with 128 megabytes of RAM; the 7200T with 128 megabytes of DRAM, and the 200S/2090S/2200T with 64 megabytes of DRAM.
  
  

GPS

• There are four types of GPS found in the units. The Navigon 5100 Max and 2100 Max have Nemerix NX. The 7100, 5100 and 8100T have 20-channel SiRF GPS III. The 2100/2120 has the SiRF Star III. The Navigon 2000S/2090S/2200T has the SiRF GRF3i+ with Instant Fix II. In addition to the built-in GPS options, there is an external antenna socket found on the Navigon 7100, 5100 and 8100T.
  
  

Interface

• All units offer a loudspeaker, keyboard, memory card option and USB connection. Most units have microphone and Bluetooth capability. As of 2010, the following models did not have a built-in microphone or Bluetooth: Navigon 2100 Max, 5100, 2100/2120 and 2000S/2090S/2200T.
  
  

Battery

• All units offer a rechargeable battery that provides three to five hours of operation.
  
  

Software for Smartphones

• Navigon GPS software is available for select smartphones. As of 2010, Navigon's GPS software is compatible with the iPhone 3G and 3GS units, Android versions 1.5 through 2.2 and phones equipped with Windows Mobile 5, 6, 6.1 and 6.5.
