How to Transfer Music to a Google Nexus One

Things You'll Need

Instructions

1

Ensure that your microSD card is mounted properly in your Nexus One phone. This is where you will save your music files.
2

Connect your Nexus One phone to your computer using the USB cable that came with the phone.
3

Open your Nexus One's notifications window and tap "USB Connected."
4

Tap "Turn On USB Storage."
5

Open the microSD card folder that should pop up on your computer screen. This is the memory card that is inserted into your Nexus One.
6

Use your computer to create a folder(s) in your microSD folder for organizing your music files. You can also do this on your phone, but it is much easier to do this before you transfer over the music. You are also able to create multiple sub-folders at this time to help organize your music.
7

Drag and drop your music files from your computer into the microSD card folder(s) that you already have open. It may take a few minutes for the files to transfer over depending on how many files you are transferring.
8

Close the microSD folder and unmount it from your computer through the "Safely Remove Hardware" option on your bottom right toolbar.
9

Switch over to your Nexus One phone and drag down your notifications panel again.
10

Tap "Turn Off USB Storage" and unplug your phone from your computer.
