- 1). Sign in to your Gmail account by typing in your Gmail username and password.
- 2). Click "Settings," and "Forwarding and POP/IMAP." Click "IMAP Access," "Enable IMAP," and "Save Changes."
- 3). Double-click your Microsoft Outlook icon to launch the email program.
- 4). Click "Tools," "Email Accounts," and "Add a New Email Account."
- 5). Click "Next." Select "IMAP" as the email account "Type." Type "imp.gmail.com" as the incoming mail server address and type "smtp.gmail.com" as the outgoing mail server address.
- 6). Type your full Gmail username and password when prompted. Click "More Settings," and "Advanced Settings."
- 7). Type "993" for the incoming server port with SSL encryption. Type "587" as the outgoing server port with TLS encryption. Click the "Outgoing Server" tab. Check to make sure that both the incoming and outgoing server require authentication. Click "OK."
- 8). Click "Test Settings" to perform the test and make sure the sync worked. Click "Finish." Your Outlook email account will sync with your Google account automatically.
