How to Reset an AD Administrator Password

    • 1). Click the Windows "Start" button and click "Administrative Tools". Click the "Active Directory Users and Computers" link. This opens the AD console.

    • 2). Click the server domain name on the left side of the window. Click the "Users" icon in the list of domain AD options.

    • 3). Right-click the "Administrator" user name. Select "Reset Password". A dialog box opens.

    • 4). Enter a new password in the first text box. Enter the same password again in the confirmation text box and click "OK" to save the new password.
