- 1). Place your Windows 2000 CD in the CD-ROM drive of your computer. Reboot your computer. When the computer has restarted, it will attempt to boot from the CD. You will see a message that says, "Press any key to boot from CD."
- 2). Press any key to begin the Windows installation.
- 3). After several seconds, a blue screen will appear; you will see "Welcome to Setup" at the top of the text. Press "Enter" to begin the Windows 2000 setup.
- 4). Agree to the user agreement by pressing the "F8" key when prompted.
- 5). On the next screen that appears, press "R" to begin a repair installation of Windows 2000.
- 6). Wait for the Windows 2000 installation to restart your computer automatically. When you see the message again that says, "Press any key to boot from CD," don't press anything. Allow Windows to start on its own.
- 7). The Windows installer will take several minutes to perform installation functions. When the setup wizard appears on screen, press "Next" to continue.
- 8). After several more minutes, you will receive a request to confirm your regional settings for Windows. Since they haven't changed, click "Next".
- 9). Carefully enter your 25-digit product key and press "Next".

Continue clicking "Next" when prompted. When the Windows installer has completed the repair installation of Windows 2000, click "Finish".
