Go green! It's the theme of millions.
Every sheet of paper, every book, every magazine represents the mass destruction of billions of trees across the world.
The waste is unbelievable.
Every piece of junk mail that you receive in your mailbox and quickly discard represents tens of thousands of other pieces that also are simply discarded.
Every bill that you get in the mail represents thousands upon thousands of others that could just as easily have been sent via an online statement, thus saving trees, rainforests, and the environment in general.
Do you know when more paper mail is sent every year than any other?Christmas, of course.
There are over TWO BILLION Christmas cards mailed in the United Stated alone every year.
This does not even take into consideration the number of hand delivered Christmas cards.
Combining all of those cards and envelopes and stamps and the very fuel required to deliver them along with the more than TWENTY MILLION Christmas trees destroyed only to be used to display some pretty lights and ornaments for a couple of weeks makes Christmas one of the most environmentally UNFRIENDLY events of the year.
And for what?To tell someone to have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year? The message is plastered everywhere you turn from early October on.
Why must the environment pay the price to drive the message into the ground? There is a solution.
Instead of sending Christmas cards through the U.
S.
Mail service, you can save time, money, and the environment by simply sending your season's greetings and wishes for a prosperous New Year through your eMail service.
Wouldn't it make you feel great to receive all of your holiday wishes from your friends, family, and the businesses that you frequent throughout the year via your computer inbox instead of clogging up your mailbox?Just think of the environment breathing a huge sigh of relief with each "You've got mail!" announcement broadcast when you log into your Internet Service Provider.
Plus, you have the added benefit of being able to save each and every one without cluttering up your house with a bunch of cards! As for the Christmas trees, why not go artificial? There are so many different types and sizes of artificial trees these days it will be easy to find something to suit your tastes.
The styles range from beautful "real" looking trees to art deco modern.
Artificial trees are easy to set up, convenient (many come pre-lit), and will save you money in the long run.
More importantly, it will help save our environment! So please, as Christmas rolls around this year, take a moment to think about how you can do your part to slow down the destruction of our planet.
Thank you, and Merry Christmas!
