- 1). Soak a few paper towels with white vinegar. Lay and wrap the vinegar-soaked paper towels on and around the stained faucet. Make sure all mineral-stained areas are covered. Leave the vinegar paper towels on the stain for a minimum of one hour or as long as overnight for more severe mineral deposit stains.

Pour enough white vinegar into a bowl so you can wet an old toothbrush in it. Dampen the toothbrush with the vinegar then sprinkle baking soda over the toothbrush for added abrasiveness that's safe for your faucet. Scrub the faucet to remove the mineral stains loosened by the vinegar-soaked paper towels. - 4). Rinse the faucet by wiping it off with damp paper towels. Dry the area with dry paper towels.

Buff the faucet with olive oil to prevent mineral deposits from returning and add shine. Pour a quarter-sized amount of olive oil onto a clean, dry paper towel and rub the oil into the faucet surface.
