Fresh Wave Odor Neutralizer - Product Review
Fresh Wave is a line of all natural odor-neutralizing products. Based in Rising Sun, Indiana and manufactured by OMI Industries, the line includes candles, sprays, gels, vacuum pearls, a multi-purpose additive and a line for pet odors. I gave the Fresh Wave Multi-Purpose Additive a try.
The Multi-Purpose Additive comes in a 32 fl.oz. bottle and is recommended for odor neutralzing. Ingredients listed are water, natural extracts of lime, pine needle, aniseed, clove and cedarwood. The recommended uses include cleaning pet areas and accidents, freshening room humidifiers, carpet cleaner additive for steam cleaners and laundry odor neutralizer. It is also touted as a washer cleaner eliminating mildew odors.
I decided to test it out on a load of my son's socks and white T-shirts. I'll admit, I was a bit taken back when I opened the bottle and got such a strong whiff of pine. Pine-scented cleaners are not my favorite. However, the strong pine scent quickly dissipated as I added a capful to my wash load along with my regular detergent.
When I removed the clothes after washing, they smelled fresh and clean with no trace of residual perspiration or body odor.
Even more pleasant was the fact that after I finished my laundry that day, my washer smelled great. Even though I still use a top loader and leave the lid open to allow thorough drying, it can sometimes smell a bit like mildew or standing water until I run a cleaning cycle. But after using Fresh Wave, the washer smelled great. I feel certain that it would greatly improve the odors that occur in front loading machines.
