- 1). Spoon excess ice cream from the surface of the upholstery. Discard into the garbage or sink and continue to remove as much of the substance as possible to prevent it from spreading into surrounding upholstery.
- 2). Press paper towels into the upholstery to wick out moisture from the ice cream spill. As the liquid is absorbed, change to a fresh towel.

Stir 1 tbsp. dishwashing detergent into 2 cups warm water to form a soapy solution. Dip a clean cloth in the detergent solution then wring out excess moisture. Blot the remaining ice cream stain to wash out discoloration and odor from the milk and other ingredients; rinse the cloth frequently and apply more soap solution until the stain is removed. - 4). Rinse the upholstery by sponging with a damp cloth. Press dry cloths into the upholstery to remove moisture and aid the drying process.
- 5). Deodorize the upholstery, after it's completely dry, by sprinkling baking soda over the surface and allowing it to sit overnight. Vacuum the next day using an upholstery attachment.
