• 1). Look at your computer unit. If your copy of XP Pro was already installed on your computer, there will be a sticker with the product key on the back or side of the unit.
  
  
• 2). Check the case that your XP Pro software disk came in. This could be a plastic case or a paper sleeve. The product key will be printed on a yellow or an orange sticker.
  
  
• 3). Locate the number on the software packaging if you purchased your copy of Microsoft Windows XP Pro at a retail store. It can be found at the top of the box.
  
  
• 4). Contact the support team at Microsoft if you still have trouble locating the product key. They will be able to help you. However, if you have lost or misplaced the XP Pro product key, you may be required to pay a fee to get a new one.
