- 1). Decide where you want to place the security camera. A door leading to an attached garage or a window overlooking the backyard are both areas where any intruder might try to gain access to the house.
- 2). Mount the security camera to the wall opposite the area it will be monitoring, using wood screws and a Phillips screwdriver. If you don't want to mount the camera to a wall, you can place it on a shelf or on a table.
- 3). Plug the camera's power cord into the video transmitter's video input. Place the video transmitter on the floor or next to the camera, depending on where the camera will be. Plug the power cord from the transmitter's power supply into its power port. Plug the AC cord from the transmitter's power supply into a wall outlet.
- 4). Turn on the transmitter's power switch, if it has one. Rotate an external antenna, if one is present, in the general direction of the TV that will monitor the camera's output.
- 5). Place the video receiver next to the monitoring TV. Plug the power cord of the receiver's power supply into the power port on the receiver. Plug the AC cord from the receiver's power supply into a wall outlet.
- 6). Insert an end of a video cable into the video output on the receiver. Insert the other end of the video cable into a video input on the back of the TV.
- 7). Turn the TV on with its remote. Press "Menu," followed by "System Setup," followed by "Video input." Choose the video input that the video cable is using from the selections offered. Press "Menu" to exit the menu settings.
- 8). Turn the receiver on with its power button, if one is present. Rotate an external antenna, if one is present, in the general direction of the camera. Select the video output that the video cable is using, if the camera is able to accept more than one camera wirelessly.
