- 1). Join any clubs that hold even slight appeal for you. Explore new interests and meet people. Meeting people who share your hobbies and passions instantly connects you with them. You may find that other cheerleaders in your squad also love history, and this can create a bond instantly. Perhaps the person who is into theater is somebody whom you never understood. You will meet all kinds of people and get to know each other. This can make you popular at a quicker rate than almost anything. If you are at a job, join committees and volunteer teams.
- 2). Start a new club at your school if you see that a hobby isn't properly addressed. A school has a budget that allows spending on clubs. If you like to read, start a book club. As an incentive for members, students who join can receive free books. The school club budget will allow for this if your club is approved. Start by going to a trusted teacher. She can walk you through the process of starting the club or lead you to an adult who can.
- 3). Start a petition to get a club started if it doesn't happen. This can be a great way to meet people who feel like you do. People will start to know who you are by the name on the signs and petitions. Post these wherever you are allowed to do so.
- 4). Run for office at your school. This could be student council office or overall student body office. Try out anything you are qualified for. Keep in mind that you should genuinely want the office that you are running for. If you are running for office only to be popular, this will backfire on you. You will have many responsibilities and need many skills as an officer. Keep that in mind when applying and planning your campaign. It isn't fair to others who truly want it if you are only in it for the school fame.
- 5). Do kind deeds for others. It takes being a friend to have a friend. While this should never get out of hand, being somebody who is always lending a hand looks great to others. Be careful that others are not taking advantage of your generosity. Within your own limitations, give freely to those around you.
- 6). Say hi and introduce yourself to those around you. If you are running on the track, try to talk to the person who runs along with you. You should still be able to converse, and you might meet a kindred spirit. Get to know your locker neighbors. A simple smile, hello and introduction works wonders. People will open up to you and be thankful to you. Everybody around you wants to be liked, too. Show that you like them.
